I didn’t realise it could be so lovely!
As we reach the end of the year it’s difficult not to reflect on what a year it’s been. For me personally lockdown was very stressful worrying if the practice would survive but it also has confirmed that I have an amazing team who I couldn’t do without.
Some positives were I read books, had my daughter and husband home, loved being with the dogs all day and ate cake like it was going out of fashion!
Lockdown has made people revaluate a lot of things: their family, their health and their quality of life.
We have noticed two types of new patients at the practice recently.
People that haven’t been to the dentist for many years and they’ve realised it’s time to take care of themselves and their health.
Many of these are extremely nervous and have chosen our expert nervous care to look after them. Evidence shows that poor dental health can impact our bodies health affecting heart disease, diabetes and recently linked to Alzheimer’s. It’s a wise choice to get your mouth healthy.
We also have seen people joining us who have realised their previous practice hasn’t looked after them very well this year, with very little information and help.
We kept patients informed all through lockdown with video updates and helpful videos such as how to use temporary filling materials.
The best thing someone has said to me this month is “Why did I leave it so long to change dentists, I didn’t realise it could be this lovely!”
So, whether you haven’t been for a while, you’re nervous or you are looking for a change, you’ll be welcome at the Dental barn.
I wish you all a Happy Christmas and the best of health and happiness for 2021.
